Besides the four priorities that we have adopted, we also have a
number of other projects/activities under way in the field of
Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility:
Community Services:
This involves Grolsch employees offering their services as
volunteers, making a contribution to society by helping others.
Grolsch Community Services has carried out a number of projects,
for instance at the Bouwhuis care facility in Enschede and at
nature reserves.
Corporate Social Investment:
Grolsch is proud of being based in the Eastern Netherlands and is
engaged in the region in a number of ways - for instances by
supporting a diverse range of cultural, sports and social
associations, foundations and activities. These include the Boekelo
equestrian event, the Enschede Marathon, the FBK Games, the
Overijssel and Geldersch 'landschap' countryside protection
organisations and various associations/foundations based in the
direct vicinity of the brewery. With respect to football, Grolsch
has agreements with the football clubs FC Twente, De Graafschap,
AGOVV Apeldoorn, Go Ahead Eagles, Heracles Almelo and various
amateur football clubs in the region. In the field of culture,
Grolsch co-operates with Muziekkwartier Enschede, Poppodium ATAK,
de Twentse Welle, Rijksmuseum Twenthe and others.
Project Growing Grolsch:
This is a long-term collaboration project with barley growers in
Zeelandic Flanders, intended to ensure that Grolsch will be able to
brew its beer entirely from sustainably grown barley by 2016. The
aim of this project is to make a sustainable improvement to barley
cultivation and to organise the supply chain in the right way. The
project offers great benefits both to Grolsch and to participating
growers: enhanced business operations, quality improvements and
securing the availability of brewer's barley.

Certification:
Thanks to its certifications in respect of ISO 14001 for
Environmental Management Systems and OHSAS 18001 for Occupational
Health & Safety Management Systems, Grolsch is able to
guarantee that its occupational health & safety and
environmental objectives are achieved. Grolsch has established
consultation platforms, training programmes and information
initiatives to encourage environmental awareness by employees in
the workplace.
