Approach and Results

In 2008 a special team was established at Grolsch to enable the organisation to take further, comprehensive steps in relation to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. This multidisciplinary team will drive projects in this field and promote their visibility.

The specific objectives on which this team is working are:

  • taking responsibility for responsible alcohol consumption;
  • applying and developing environmentally friendly processes;
  • using ethically produced, natural ingredients;
  • actively promoting our ambitions in relation to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.
  • This team also provides a six-monthly report to SABMiller, using a 'Self Assessment Management System' (SAM), on Grolsch's performance in relation to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. The SAM system provides global benchmark data from all SABMiller breweries, the results of which are published annually in the SAB Miller Sustainable Development Report F11.
