Grolsch's history stretches back to 1615, making it one of the
oldest companies in the Netherlands. The company brews only beer
and through the years has grown into one of the Netherlands'
strongest leading brands, as well as gaining respect further
afield.
The company employs some 750 staff both in the Netherlands and
abroad, and since 1995 has been entitled to use the predicate
'Koninklijk' (Dutch for 'Royal'). In 2004 Grolsch officially opened
an entirely new brewery, located to the south-west of the city of
Enschede, replacing its previous brewery in northern Enschede
(built in 1895) and its original base in Groenlo (built in 1615).
At this new, highly efficient facility, Grolsch uses the very
latest technology to brew beer according to traditional methods,
using natural ingredients. For the master craftsman, this
state-of-the-art facility is the perfect toolset!
